How to Enter System Safe Mode?- Fix System Error Easily
Friday, March 19th, 2010
When your computer fails, you can try to solve the problem in system Safe Mode. How to enter Safe Mode? It is very simple. Once restarting the computer, after the hardware self-test before the system boot-up, just press the F8 key. If you are still not sure when to press F8, then just please keep pressing F8 after the computer restart-up. Once you enter system Safe Mode, you can operate as needed.
Safe Mode can solve the following problems:
1. To repair system failures
If Windows does not run stably or can not start up normally, do not push yourself to be busy to restore the system; try to restart your computer and switch to Safe Mode to start, and then restart the computer. Does the system become normal now? If the system failure is caused by registry problems, this solution is very effective, because Window start-up in Safe Mode can automatically repair registry problems. If Windows can start up successfully in Safe Mode, then usually it can start up well in normal mode.
2. To restore system settings
If the system can not normally start up because of the installation of certain new software or changes of some settings, it is also needed to enter system Safe Mode to solve the problem. If the problem is due to installation of new software, please uninstall the software in Safe Mode; if the problem is caused by changes in some settings, such as display resolution setting beyond the scope, leading to a black screen, then after entering Safe Mode the settings can be changed back. And, if you can not normally use a computer because you forget the password set for the screen saver in the “Start” menu, you can also enter Safe Mode to change the settings.
3. To delete stubborn files
When we delete some files in Windows or empty the Recycle Bin, system sometimes may prompt that certain files are using and can not be deleted. But, what is interesting is that these files are not actually using. Then, should we just leave these files to occupy our disk space? Please do not worry. Restart your computer, and press F8 in startup to enter Safe Mode. Try to delete those stubborn files and empty the Recycle Bin. It’s done! It is because that Windows has no protection on those files any more, so they could be deleted now.
4. To completely remove virus
Nowadays, viruses are getting more and more, and antivirus software has also been updated every day. However, viruses in Windows normal mode sometimes can not be removed completely, for they may infect each other, and some antivirus software can not run under DOS. In this case, we can also start the system to Safe Mode so that Windows loads only the most basic drives, which can make the removal of viruses more thorough and cleaner
5. Disk Defragment
In the process of defragmentation, other programs should not run, because when other programs read and write the disk, Defragmenter will automatically re-start. While in normal startup of Windows, the system will loads some automatic Startup programs which sometimes may not be easy to manually close and often interfere the Defragmenter. In this case, we should restart the computer into the Safe Mode. The system in Safe Mode will not start any automatic Startup programs, so that it can ensure the smooth process of Disk Defragment.
